Writing
I write about popular science, technology, and math for general audiences. I've written for student publications including Woroni and The Varsity.
My favourites:
Maths vs skateboarding: I take a light-hearted look at the proof that there are only four skateboard flip tricks up to homotopy (Carlisle et al., https://arxiv.org/abs/2108.06307). My article was Woroni's most-read online article of 2021!
Is Google going away?: An in-depth look at Google's threat to pull out of Australia entirely. I was (briefly) quoted by The Fulcrum, the University of Ottawa's student paper.
U of T scientists sign open letter declaring climate emergency: A report on an international letter warning of the consequences of climate change, published in 2019.
Peering into a black hole: A piece on the world's first image of a black hole.
