WRITING
I write about popular science, technology, and math for general audiences. I also write about my experiences as a graduate student. You can find my new writing on my blog.
In the past, I've written extensively for Woroni, the student media organisation at the Australian National University (ANU). During a semester at the University of Toronto (U of T), I also wrote for The Varsity, the U of T student newspaper.
MY FAVOURITES
Maths vs skateboarding: A light-hearted look at the mathematical proof that there are 'only' four skateboard flip tricks. (Carlisle-Hammer-Hingtgen-Martins, 2021). My article was Woroni's most-read online article of 2021.
U of T scientists sign open letter declaring climate emergency: A report on an international letter warning of the consequences of climate change, published in 2019.
Peering into a black hole: On the work that went into taking the world's first image of a black hole, and what the image tells us.
EDITING
I was the science sub-editor for Woroni for Editions 1-3 of 2019, which you can read here.
